THE GASTRONOMY INDUSTRY IS DYING
On September 12 of this year, a conference was held in the Sejm dedicated to providing real support for this industry.
“After all the hardships caused by the pandemic, I somehow managed to survive, and things even started going quite well. However, when the war broke out and the crisis related to it began—#highprices and #inflation—the attendance at my restaurant dropped by 50%, while costs increased by 40%.” This was just one of many voices heard during yesterday’s debate titled “Challenges of the Crisis Era in the Gastronomy Industry – Proposed Solutions.” The parliamentary debate was organized by #KoalicjaObywatelska, @Instytut.Obywatelski, and @IGGP.Izba.Gospodarcza.Gastronomii.Polskiej in cooperation with @OFMSP2020, @KIT2019, @BiuroRzecznikaMŚP, and @PracodawcyRP.
On Monday, September 12 of this year, on behalf of the National Federation of SMEs and the National Chamber of Trade Fairs, MP and Vice President of the Chamber Bogdan Bujak, along with the Federation’s Director Andrzej Zabielski, participated in a parliamentary conference dedicated to providing real support for entrepreneurs in the gastronomy industry, and more broadly, the entire HO-GA-TUR sector (hotels, gastronomy, and tourism). The discussion primarily focused on the urgent implementation of a support program for this particularly disadvantaged group of Polish entrepreneurs, including the immediate introduction of a unified 5% VAT rate on all gastronomy services and products. According to the presented calculations, this measure would also tighten control over business transactions by vendors, leading to a real increase in budget revenue from this sector and a boost in GDP. Beyond the main demands, the discussion also highlighted the numerous challenges faced by restaurant owners across Poland, from the smallest businesses to those managing multiple establishments.
#Main_Goal – Simplify Bureaucracy!
The gathered representatives of entrepreneurs and parliamentarians considered the meeting to be substantive and constructive, and they appealed to the authorities for the swift implementation of the discussed proposals.
